Tom Brady is a former American football quarterback who played for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL) for 20 seasons. He is widely considered one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and has won the most Super Bowls of any player in league history.
Brady was born on August 3, 1977, in San Mateo, California. He attended Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, where he played football and baseball. He then attended the University of Michigan, where he played college football for the Wolverines.
Brady was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and served as a backup quarterback for his first two seasons. He became the starting quarterback in 2002, and led the Patriots to a Super Bowl victory that year. He went on to lead the team to six more Super Bowl victories, and was named the Super Bowl MVP four times.
Brady has set numerous NFL records, including most career passing yards, most career touchdowns, and most career playoff passing yards. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl 14 times, and has been named the Associated Press NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) three times.
In 2021, Brady left the Patriots and signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, leading the team to a Super Bowl victory in his first season with the team. He retired from professional football in 2021.
